Sizes & Configuration
Flexible heaters are available in sizes up to 37" x 143" without splicing. Longer heaters are available 30" wide or less. Complex shapes, contours and power densities in single or multi-zoned heaters are available with voltages ranging from 6 volt single phase to 480 volt three phase.
Construction & Materials
Heating Element
The resistance heating element is high temperature Copper-Nickel and Nickel-Chrome alloy wire, wound around a Kevlar thread core to provide added strength and flexibility.
Sheath Material
The pre-wound heating element is vulcanized between two layers of fiberglass reinforced silicone rubber to form a strong flexible assembly. Vulcanizing agents are removed during the hot press and out-gassing cycles to produce a flexible heater with high dielectric strength that is resistant to moisture, chemicals and acids.

The materials and components comprising our heater construction do not automatically make a heater “certified” by any testing laboratory. The “certification” of a custom made product is a lengthy and expensive process that is available at the customer’s expense. Any code interpretation or requirement regarding heater specifications is the customer’s responsibility.
Standards
We manufacture to Boeing D6-56237 temperature uniformity standards and to European aerospace quality standards.
Temperature Control Options

No Temperature Control (Default)

Thermostat

Adjustable Thermostat

Thermal Switch
Adjustable thermostats are capable of 550°F. For the longest life of the heating blanket, temperatures of 450°F should not be exceeded for long periods of time.
For additional guidance around temperature control options please see Application Guidelines 6 & 7
Attachments & Fasteners
Available attachment and fastening methods for securing heaters to the application surface.

Application Guidelines
01
The heating blanket needs to be in contact with the surface to be heated over the entire surface of the blanket. Insure there are no air gaps, holes, indentions, or protrusions between the heating blanket and the part to be heated.
02
Do not overlap blanket onto itself unless designed for this purpose.
03
Do not allow blanket to be damaged by sharp objects.
04
Our standard blankets are not designed for immersion.
05
If equipped with Velcro closure, blanket should not exceed 300°F.
06
If equipped with an adjustable thermostat, increase temperature slowly over time and monitor heating blanket in order to determine the proper thermostat setting. Adjustable thermostats are capable of 550°F. For the longest life of the heating blanket, temperatures of 450°F should not be exceeded for long periods of time.
07
If equipped with either an adjustable or fixed temperature thermostat, be aware that the temperature of the entire blanket will be determined by the area of the blanket and/or part directly under the thermostat sensing area. Unless otherwise specified the thermostat will sense the temperature of the heating blanket, not necessarily the temperature of the part being heated. Heaters will at first greatly exceed the thermostat set point until the heater has cycled on and off several times allowing the temperatures of the blanket, the heated part, and the thermostat mold to achieve a similar temperature value.
08
Insure sufficient amperage is available to operate the heating blankets.
09
It is recommended the surface that the heating blanket is in contact with, be well grounded for safe operation.
