We make heaters for bio-medical applications such as growing cultures and maintaining consistent temperatures within biological enclosures that require removable fasteners and attachment methods. Where a temperature excursion would ruin a sample or damage equipment, we build in protection against it. That can mean an embedded thermocouple for monitoring, a high-limit thermal fuse that cuts power if a controller fails or someone sets it wrong, or both.

The Problem

Our customer needed a removable heater with an embedded thermocouple and a high limit thermal-fuse in the event of electronic controller failure or operator error. The heater also needed a cut-out for an observation window, as well as a method of easy on/off attachment.

The Solution

After determining the necessary temperature, we determined that a Velcro closure would work best for the application. We designed the heater for the proper diameter of the vessel, allowing it to be attached securely while still being easy to remove when necessary.
